Women That Inspire Us

Women's History Month, Celebrating Women that Inspire

Women’s History Month, Celebrating Inspiring Women throughout History

This month, I want to highlight some truly inspiring women who accomplished so much during a time when women had little sovereignty. Their stories are a testament to the power of determination and perseverance. Let's celebrate their legacies and honor the impact they had on the world.

Do you know about the woman climber who led the first all-women team?

Junko Tabei, First women to led a team of women up Mount Everest

Junko Tabei, First woman that led a team of women up Mount Everest

Junko Tabei, whose life was filled with incredible accomplishments and feats that few can match. In 1975, she led the first all-women team to conquer Mount Everest, and later in 1992 became the first woman ever to climb the highest peaks on all seven continents - the legendary "Seven Summits". But that's not all - Junko was also a passionate environmentalist, dedicated to cleaning up the Himalayas and removing abandoned climbing gear. She participated in multiple clean-up expeditions in Japan and the Himalayas, showing us all that with determination and hard work, we can make a difference and achieve great things. Junko Tabei truly embodies the spirit of adventure, perseverance, and environmental stewardship that inspires us all!

"Technique and ability alone do not get you to the top; it is the willpower that is most important."

The Female Flash that Still Holds the Record

Flo Jo and her iconic nails

Flo Jo and her Iconic Nails

Let me tell you about a legendary woman who set the world on fire with her blazing speed and stunning style. Her name was Florence Griffith Joyner, but you might know her as the one and only "Flo Jo"! This incredible athlete still holds the world records for the 100 and 200-meter sprints from 1988. And if that wasn't impressive enough, she was also famous for her six-inch-long nails, which only added to her already fierce and fabulous persona.

Flo Jo & Sha’Carri Richardson

Flo Jo unfortunately passed away at the age of 38. The legacy of her memory continues to inspire young athletes, such as Sha'Charri Richardson and even influences icons like Beyonce in their unique style, ultimately changing the game and pushing the boundaries.

Love Has No Bounds

This story serves as a reminder of the power of standing up against injustice and fighting for change. It's a testament to the courage and perseverance of those who refused to simply accept the status quo and instead worked towards a better future for all of us.

Mildred & Richard Loving in the HBO Movie about their story of changing Virginia Law against Interracial Marriage.

Mildred Loving and her late husband Richard's love story is a testament to the power of love and the fight for justice. Their struggle to have their marriage recognized, despite the discriminatory laws banning interracial marriage, led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling in 1967. They faced many challenges, including being taken to jail after getting married and being told they needed to leave their home for 25 years. However, their perseverance and love prevailed, paving the way for a more inclusive society. Their inspiring story has been immortalized in a movie, and their legacy continues to inspire generations to come.

Women In Space

Kalpana Chawla, the indian born woman to go to space for NASA

Kalpana Chawla, First Indian Born Woman Aerospace Engineer to go to Space

Kalpana Chawla, an outstanding aerospace engineer, left an indelible mark in the field of space science with her incredible achievements. One of those achievements being the first Indian woman to go to space.

Her determination and hard work led her to earn two M.S. degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 2003, Chawla embarked on her second spaceflight aboard the awe-inspiring STS-107, where she displayed remarkable courage and dedication.

Unfortunately, Chawla was one of the seven crew members who lost their lives in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, but her bravery and heroism will forever be remembered through her last words,

"Our mission is successful and we are all fine here."

Glaxay and Stars

"When you look at the stars and the galaxy, you feel that you are not just from any particular piece of land, but from the solar system."

A big shoutout to all the incredible women in history and in our personal lives who have achieved great things and paved the way for us to achieve even more. Even though it may sometimes feel like women aren't fully appreciated in politics, we are still here and still making progress. Thank you to all the amazing women who have come before us and to those who continue to inspire us today.
