Love Ritual
As June begins Pride month we joyfully start to celebrate love, in ALL it’s beautiful forms.
Love is love
No matter what your pronouns are, what you look like, your skin color, ethnicity, or background, we are all beings capable of opening our hearts to give and receive love. Whether you are in a relationship, single, in a situation-ship, etc., anyone and everyone can participate in this love ritual.
Love Ritual
Now this Love ritual is not about making someone fall in love with you. It’s more meant for you to fall in love with yourself and the world around you. Focusing on yourself first.
Setting the Mood
Now this is my favorite thing to do for my partner and for myself. When I’m having my self care time I set the mood just like I would if it were for two.
Make it a vibe:
Using Unscented Pillar candles to create mood lighting and clear the space
Add your favorite pillows and blankets
Using aroma from incense to refresh the air, open your windows to let a breeze roll in
Pour your favorite drink, nonalcoholic or not, whatever hits the spot
Play your favorite playlist, something that makes you relax and unwind
Lastly don’t forget to grab your favorite pen and journal
**This space can even be setting up a nice bathtub.
The Ritual
The ritual consists of two parts; Reflection & Relaxation
Reflection
Take this time to get comforable, pull out your pen and paper. If you’re doing this with a partner this can be a great bonding time for the both of you.
Answer these questions as honeslty that you can, and each time you do this love ritual your answers may change:
How do I like to receive love? (Is is through gifts, phyical touch, words of affirmations, etc)
Looking back in my life what is one memory that makes you feel full of love. (It can be when you played with a puppy, or hugged your best friend, etc)
When you were writting that memory where in your body did you feel the sensation of love?
When you finsih writing take the time to sit and just be. No need to rush to the next activity because it leads right into it.
Relaxation
Sitting in your cozy intentional space, thinking about love. Take this time to just be with yourself. Listen to your favorite song, drink or snack on your favorite foods and tell yourself “I love you”. Say it out loud! More than just saying it, feel it.
